Our summertime to-do list . . .

I was originally registered for classes this summer, planning to knock out a few credits. (I'm only 18 away! woop wooop!) Instead, Jord & I decided to take advantage of these valuable first months together with a little academic hiatus. We're excited to spend all of June, July & August with no other homework than just being together.

Seeing that it's our first summer as husband & wife, making it memorable is a must! And besides.. this might be the only time we'll be able to take a break like this. Life is about to get real busy for the de Lisles over the next few years with a lot of grown up responsibilities... the last leg of our undergraduate degrees, building MAVIN, working towards our careers, PA school & a potential big move, etc. Then, eventually we'll be too baby hungry to even function normally in society. And we all know that having children fully eliminates any chances of ever 'taking a break'.

This is a rare window & we're ready to live it up!

So in the spirit of 'living it up,' I made a little summer bucket list:

I'm supposed to blog now that I'm married, right?

It's an unwritten yet universally understood rule that married ladies are supposed to blog. (Right?) So now that I'm a 'Mrs.' myself, I just had to look into it... And even though I have always considered blogging to be mostly unnecessary, a tad egotistical, and kinda sorta ridiculous, here I am.. Blogging.

Now, I don't expect my audience to be much more than my mom, (Hey Mom!) but that's actually the point of this whole thing. I hope this little public journal will be a fun and convenient way for our family and friends to stay updated with the terribly exciting, down-right outrageous lives of Jordy & Kate. Trust me, it's a nail-biter.

CONFESSION:  K, so we're not actually that exciting and our lives aren't even slightly outrageous and in all honesty this blog will most likely only include the trivial tasks of our day-to-day. And we don't have a baby or even a cute dog to brag about! There might be an occasional funny story and maybe even a few minor adventures (Look out!), but one thing I can definitely promise is plenty of pictures! Plus, my husband is a total babe so that helps. I don't expect to write anything extraordinary, but maybe, just maybe there will be a shred of entertainment value. Or perhaps it'll only be for my own personal enjoyment, and that's totally fine too.

So here's my first post! Just a little introduction into the 'why'. I'll get to the 'who', 'what', 'when' and 'where' another time.

That's all for now, I guess. Hope you enjoy it, Mom!

as delighted as ever, Kate de Lisle
